Privacy Policy
1 Overview
KidsCalc (kidscalc.com.au) is an Australian website that provides free sizing guides and calculators for parents. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use this website, how it is used, and your rights in relation to that information.
KidsCalc does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any personal information to use any calculator on this site. No names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other directly identifying information are collected by KidsCalc directly.
However, as with virtually all websites, certain technical data is automatically collected through third-party services we use — specifically Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for site analytics and Google AdSense for display advertising. This policy explains what those services collect and how to control them.
2 Information We Collect
Information you enter into calculators
When you use a calculator on KidsCalc (for example, entering a child's height, weight, or age), that information is processed entirely within your browser using JavaScript. It is not transmitted to KidsCalc's servers and is not stored, logged, or collected by us. All calculator inputs are local to your device and session only.
Automatically collected technical data
The following data is automatically collected by third-party services when you visit this site:
- Your approximate IP address (used to determine general geographic location, e.g. country or region)
- Browser type, version, and operating system
- Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
- Pages visited on this site, time of visit, and time spent on each page
- Referring website (the site you came from before visiting KidsCalc)
- Screen resolution and language settings
This data is collected by Google via cookies and similar tracking technologies as described in Sections 4, 5, and 6 below. KidsCalc does not have access to raw IP addresses through Google Analytics — IP addresses are anonymised before being stored by Google.
3 How We Use Information
The automatically collected technical data described above is used for the following purposes:
- Site analytics: Understanding which calculators are most used, how visitors navigate the site, and how to improve content and usability.
- Ad serving: Google AdSense uses cookies and browsing data to serve relevant advertisements. KidsCalc receives payment when ads are displayed or clicked, which funds the free operation of this site.
- Performance monitoring: Identifying technical issues such as pages that load slowly or display incorrectly on certain devices.
KidsCalc does not sell, rent, or share any collected data with third parties other than through the Google services described in this policy. We do not use data for email marketing, direct marketing, or any purpose beyond site improvement and ad delivery.
4 Google Analytics (GA4)
This website uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyse how visitors use this site. The Measurement ID used on this site is G-LWMCNV62S4.
Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to visiting here. We use this information only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. KidsCalc has enabled IP anonymisation in GA4, which means IP addresses are truncated before storage by Google.
Google's ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Opt out of Google Analytics: You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Alternatively, you can manage cookies through your browser settings as described in Section 6.
5 Google AdSense & Display Advertising
This website uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. AdSense is operated by Google LLC. The AdSense publisher ID used on this site is ca-pub-3875893401590363.
Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. This is known as interest-based advertising or personalised advertising.
Advertisers whose ads appear on this site may use their own cookies to measure ad performance and show you relevant ads. KidsCalc does not control or have access to any cookies set by advertisers.
Opt out of personalised advertising: You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or visit aboutads.info to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies. Australian users can also visit youronlinechoices.com.au to manage ad preferences.
Even if you opt out of personalised ads, you will still see ads on this site — they will simply be contextual (based on page content) rather than interest-based.
6 Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by websites you visit. KidsCalc itself does not set first-party cookies. The following third-party cookies are set when you visit this site:
-
Google Analytics cookies (e.g.
_ga,_ga_XXXXXXX) — used to distinguish users and sessions for analytics purposes. Typically persist for 2 years. -
Google AdSense cookies (e.g.

8 Children's Privacy
KidsCalc is a tool designed for use by parents and carers, not directly by children. The site does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. Children's data (such as height, weight, and age) entered into our calculators is processed entirely within the user's browser and is not transmitted to or stored by KidsCalc.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under your care has provided personal information to this site, please contact us at privacy@kidscalc.com.au and we will take steps to investigate and address the concern.
We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and its requirements in relation to personal information about children.
9 Australian Privacy Act 1988
KidsCalc is committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) where applicable.
As noted throughout this policy, KidsCalc does not directly collect personally identifiable information from users. Technical usage data (IP addresses, browser information) is collected solely through Google's services, subject to Google's own privacy terms and compliance obligations.
